About The Sim

The USS Excalibur, an Ascension-class starship is currently assigned to the 22nd Fleet serves as a carrier with weapons systems dwarfing even the strongest foes while being able to carry the same amount of fighters as the Concorde-class. The Ascension-class starship is one of the most advanced and most powerful vessels ever built by Starfleet. Rated for combat, exploration, scientific, diplomatic, and logistics missions, the 1,600 member crew is dedicated to serving at the forefront of Starfleet and the Federation.

We have been part of the 22nd Fleet since 15 December 2019, but have been an active simulation since 4 October 2016. We have spent our time with this ship name, in two different ship classes, but we have stayed true to what we all came here for, to enjoy writing our own story within the Star Trek universe. We are all part of the simulation to write a story that can be enjoyed by all. Our posts are all publically available on this website and you are welcome to read through them and enjoy them, as much as they have been enjoyable to write. There might be days with multiple posts, and some days with only a single post, but they all tell a story. I hope you enjoy them.

While quantity is great and something we always strive for, it is not the end result, it is not what we look at each and every month. Our focus is on the quality of posting, the quality of the writing that is coming out. It is all well and good to have 100+ posts each month, but if there is no substance, no detail, no description… then it is just a bunch of words strung together. Here on the USS Excalibur, we pride ourselves in having detail and description in our posts. Posts that come together in a single posting style, that shows we are all on the same page and working together as a team to achieve our goals. To enjoy and love our writing and to have fun!

As part of the 22nd Fleet, we are not governed by Task Forces or regions of space, the whole Star Trek galaxy is our playground. No matter what we want to do, or where we want to go, the support of the fleet will be there. Our focus is on our writing, not politics. Just like the fleet charter, we aim to create a safe environment, free from harassment and discrimination, for creative writers to explore various universes and genres in a collaborative environment. We still do follow main canon requirements from a range of sources, up to and including the most recent movies, but we do not have a set linear timeline of a canon plot to follow.

We welcome all visitors to our website, our little piece of the galaxy. Please enjoy our website, have a look around and if you are interested in becoming part of the USS Excalibur crew, please join us by applying through our application form and feel free to join our Discord server if you have any questions and to meet our crew once your application is accepted.

We also have some frequently asked questions that will help you in your journey with us here on the USS Excalibur. I look forward to seeing you soon as a crewmember on our simulation!

Current Mission: Do You Remember?

Mission Details can be found on our website

Having just finished the last six months on patrol assignments, the USS Excalibur is finally assigned a mission, something that may seem to be of importance to the Federation. The ship is docked at Xavier Fleet Yards for a routine inspection and given their orders. It seems that a personal matter has developed back in a place where the Excalibur was last there some four years ago. The Raeyan Transit Corridor…

For the last twelve months, a high ranking official has been evading capture, evading all aspects to reason and has been bent on stopping the movement all on his own, for his own sanity and for the rescue of his family. That official is Commodore Nathaniel Jackson, the twist is that he is the brother-in-law of Captain Richardson. Intelligence reports have suggested that they know where he is, but now it is a point where simply put it, he needs to be stopped. They know that with the ongoing attacks in the corridor, that they are retaliation for his incursion into Romulan space and with those reports also suggesting the recent destruction of a depot that the movement used in the Gasko system, the time has come to send out the Excalibur.

The orders are very simple, get to the location, find Commodore Jackson’s family and return them safely, and with minor Starfleet casualties, but also to then try and bring down the Free Romulan Movement once and for all. Starfleet are concerned that they have now too much region around the corridor, and the Romulans are now even more concerned, following the loss of the Gasko system, the scene of the recent destruction and now that the movement seem to be building up to something big, they now want the assistance of the Federation. They want it to end.

What will they discover when they get to the neutral zone, will it be the same or has everything changed in the last several years?
